Count Every Star

Book #1 of the Edgewater Story

Alex Wagner, a consultant who is fed up with the North Coast’s snow and cold, meets Sarah Grayson, a New York voice actress and aspiring costume designer.

Sarah is in Cleveland to close out her grandmother’s aging lakefront home after the grandmother has moved to an assisted living facility.  Sarah is good-hearted, but a little bitter from a breakup with her boyfriend, who cheated on her.

Alex is dating Claire, a petulant, high-maintenance woman who puts on quite a show, but he soon realizes Sarah has much more to offer.

Just as Alex begins to question his carefully laid plans to leave Cleveland behind, Sarah’s old boyfriend asks for another chance and she heads back to New York City.

Following signs that are too uncanny to be coincidence, Alex, with guidance from a particularly mysterious neighbor,

comes up with an over-the-top plan to bring Sarah home for Christmas and win her back.
